Wellington North Fire Service boasts the first Fire Safety Planning House in Ontario, and only the second one in Canada.
The inflatable house, unveiled for the first time to the public Saturday afternoon at the Mount Forest Fire Station, is 10 feet wide, 20 feet long and 12 feet tall. The Mount Forest Kin Club generously picked up the $11,000 price tag. Jason Benn, Fire Prevention Public Education Officer for Wellington North Fire Services, made it a priority to get the house, investing the past year to securing the funding and then handling the paperwork to ensure it could be delivered from its Texan manufacturer to Ontario.
