The season of giving is no idle idiom for the Mount Forest community, as its massive annual Christmas hamper project reflected an incredible level of generosity and response.
Christmas Bureau co-ordinator Daphne Rappard-Armstrong used words such as astonishing, amazing and phenomenal to describe the community’s involvement in 2011; not only among donations, but in volunteer efforts as well.
In all, a total of 147 Christmas hampers were delivered throughout the community, making the holidays that much sweeter for 242 adults and 188 youth as they received gifts of food, clothing and toys.
