Short on experience, but long on community spirit, Jim Heinbuch will be seeking a seat as a Wellington County councillor in Ward 4 in this fall’s municipal election.
Mr. Heinbuch has lived on the Conn Road/County Road 14 in county Ward 4 for the past eight years. Having recently shut down his freight business to enjoy retirement, he had formerly been a long haul trucker for more than 30 years.
“I have always been interested in politics, and I now find that I have the time needed to devote to becoming more involved and proactive in my community,’ he said, “and being of service to the people of the county of Wellington.”
Mr. Heinbuch recognizes that he does not have any direct experience as a county councillor, but he has been exposed to municipal government for over 25 years. He understands how municipal government and county council operates, and how it is governed.
A results-oriented individual, Mr. Heinbuch is not making any political promises, only that he will strive to ensure the needs of the community of Wellington are addressed, and to promote economic growth and prosperity to Ward 4 and the county as a whole.
“The people of Wellington County are good, honest and hardworking people, and I would like to be given the opportunity to be of service to them,” he said.
The prospective councillor pledges to always be accessible, available and approachable, and stay in touch with the people. They will receive his undivided attention. Mr. Heinbuch says he has “no hidden agenda” and wants to work hard for the people of Ward 4, as they have the same needs as he does.
“You can always make your community better, and I hope to have the opportunity to work for the people of Ward 4 and the county of Wellington—because I care,” he said.
