Bluewater District School Board is continuing with the mentor program Link Crew to offer Grade 9 students a day of their own to get acquainted with the high school.
Link Crew pairs Grade 9 students with specially selected senior students for an orientation day on Tuesday, Sept. 7. Students will get to know each other, their new school, their teachers and support staff and their mentors by participating in a special morning assembly and orientation activities.
Grades 10, 11 and 12 students won't start classes until Wednesday, Sept. 8.
This is the fourth year for the Link Crew program and all Grade 9 students at the 11 high schools in the Bluewater district will participate.
"Link Crew is a fabulous introduction to high school," said Jean Stephenson, superintendent of student success. "This new beginning will be as stress free as possible, and will help set our students up for great success in the coming year."
