Donald Kenny of Southgate Township is dead following an accident on Highway 6 near Varney on Monday afternoon.
The collision occurred south of Maplewood Road in a construction zone just before 2 p.m. According to the OPP, a loaded northbound tri-axle dump truck entered the southbound land of Highway 6 and struck the northbound car driven by Mr. Kenny. Both vehicles came to rest at the entrance of a nearby business.
Mr. Kenny, 42-years-old, died at the scene from injuries sustained. The driver of the dump truck, 36-year-old Charles Henderson of Gowanstown was not injured.
Members of the West Grey Police Service and Fire Department assisted Grey County OPP at the scene.
Several witnesses were interviewed and the investigation is continuing with Constable Reuben Bierworth as the investigating officer.
