The Holstein Drama Group’s presentation of Oklahoma! was nothing short of stellar and was enjoyed by sold-out audiences at all five performances last week. In the photo Andrew Carnes, played by Rayburn Love, brandishes his shotgun at peddler Ali Hakim, played by Derek Aitken, over his intentions towards Ado Annie Carnes, played by Lara Riehl. Jennie Aitken, Scott McInnes, Neil Aitken, Laurie Aitken, Kyle Calder and Tammy O’Dell took the other main roles in the play, which featured a cast of 44. The play was directed by Cindy Aitken and included live music by Andy Aitken, guitar, Paul Eccles, keyboard, Dave Echlin, bass guitar, Susan Lowry, flute and Stuart McLean, drums. Paul Eccles was musical director, choreography was by Jennie Aitken and Brooke North, Amanda Stere and Lisbet MacLean danced to one number in the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic.
